December 12, 2020

Garden State Real Estate Academy is New Jersey’s top-rated real estate school for helping people get a NJ real estate licensing. But we also offer dozens of live and online continuing education CE classes. The New Jersey Real Estate License Law requires every real estate agent and broker (except for referral agents) to renew their real estate licenses by June 30th of each odd-numbered year. To do so, they much have completed at least 12 hours of approved continuing education, of which six must be in “core” subjects and of those core topics, at least two hours must be in ethics.

While June 30th is the statutory deadline for completing your CE, the real estate commission imposes a $200 fee on licensees who do not take their classes by April 30th.

With the deadline just four months away, we will dedicate one or more of our blog messages each month to examining one of those CE classes. The reason is to not only to meet a mandatory CE requirement, but more importantly, to suggest CE classes that will be genuinely interesting and helpful in your real estate career.

Best of all, whichever class you take via our online partnership with The CE Shop booked here, you will get a HUGE discount! https://tinyurl.com/y4elvm5n

We are each responsible for our own success.

A frequently quoted statistic is that 80% of real estate agents leave the business within five years after earning their real estate license. That statistic is so often quoted by well-informed authorities that the fact remains, something happens between when they graduate from their real estate school and when they abandon their real estate careers.

From my own experience of watching these agents enter and leave their real estate careers over 32 years, I suggest the number one reason is that they fail to ever put together a cogent business plan. I can remember agents sitting their floor time shift and complaining bitterly about their broker because they got no leads. I can think of other agents whom I saw introduced as they entered the profession and were welcomed at a sales meeting—and almost never saw them again. Why? Because they started their real estate career assuming that all they had to do was get a real estate license and then the leads would drop into their lap.

How does that work out?

Not so much!

Business Planning for Real Estate Professionals.

One of my favorite aphorisms is, “Failing to plan means you’re planning to fail.” That is certainly true in the real estate profession. So I am really excited about the online continuing education class we are offering this month—at a HUGE discount—called “Business Planning for Real Estate Professionals.” You can access it here: https://tinyurl.com/y4elvm5n

This counts as three hours of approved elective CE, but frankly, I believe its value to your 2021 business far exceeds the value of simply racking up three CE credits.
